CMHC issued a new forecast for the next two years early this week, predicting that the annual increase in price growth will go from 7.2% in 2015 to 1.3% in 2016, and 1.4% in 2017. Home sales and new home construction are also expected to drop, though not by quite as much as price. CMHC says there won’t be a massive correction for housing, but rather just a slow down, with prices barely keeping pace with inflation.
